| 'There was always a lot of discussion about how impossible
it was to find chestnuts in Australia . We also heard gruesome
stories about children who pricked themselves on the spiky outer
husk. They used to say that the prickle was so fine they couldn't
see it and it got infected and they had to chop a finger off to
save the child. So chestnuts have a colourful history in my heritage.'
